Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what data Troubleshooting Academy (“we”, “us”) accesses and what leaves your device. It applies to the tsacademy.tech website and all Troubleshooting Academy products, including the Salvo browser extension.

Troubleshooting Academy publishes a range of products - browser extensions, mobile and desktop apps, command-line tools, e-books, templates, and other digital downloads. This policy describes our practices brand-wide; where a specific product handles data differently, that is called out in the per-product section below.

The short version: our tools do their work on your device wherever possible, and we do not sell or share your personal data.

Website usage. We do not currently run analytics or advertising trackers on tsacademy.tech. If we add privacy-respecting analytics in future, we will update this policy and name the provider before enabling it.

Purchases. Purchases are processed by Dodo Payments, acting as Merchant of Record. Your payment details are handled by Dodo Payments and are not stored by us; see Dodo Payments’ own privacy policy for how they handle payment data. We receive only the information needed to fulfil and support your purchase, such as your order reference and the email used at checkout.

Third-party stores. Some products are sold or distributed through third-party marketplaces (for example, the Amazon Kindle Store or the Chrome Web Store). When you buy or install through those stores, your data is handled under that store’s own privacy policy.

Support. If you email us, we keep that correspondence to answer you and improve the products.

Salvo (browser extension). Salvo opens multiple links at once, from your clipboard or from links on the current page. It does its work locally in your browser. Your clipboard contents, the pages you visit, and the links it finds are never sent to us or to any third party.

Clipboard (read only). When you open the “Copied URLs” view, the extension reads your clipboard once to find pasted links. This happens only while the popup is open and only to build the on-screen list. Clipboard contents are processed in memory and are never stored or transmitted.

The current page’s links. When you use the “This Page” view, the extension reads the links on the tab you are actively viewing, only at the moment you ask it to, using on-demand injection via the activeTab and scripting permissions. It has no standing access to your browsing and cannot read pages in the background. The links it finds are processed in memory and are never stored or transmitted.

Tabs and tab groups. The tabs, tabGroups, and activeTab permissions are used only to open the links you select, in new tabs, a new window, or a tab group, according to your settings.

Local storage. Your settings and your license activation state are saved with the browser’s storage API on your own device. This data stays on your device and is not synced to us.

License activation (paid users only). When you enter a license key, the extension sends that key and a device name (for example, “Salvo on MacIntel”) directly to Dodo Payments’ license servers (*.dodopayments.com) to activate, validate, or deactivate your license, and receives back whether the key is valid. No browsing data, clipboard data, or page content is ever included in these requests.

Other products. Our command-line tools and e-books do not collect analytics or usage data. Where a future product (or a future version of an existing product) collects diagnostic or usage data, that will be disclosed in this section before it does so.

• We never transmit the contents of your clipboard or the pages you visit.

• We never sell or share your personal data.

• We do not require an account to use the Salvo extension.

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies on our website. A product or a payment provider may set cookies that are strictly necessary for a feature you request (for example, completing a checkout). You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings.

Product settings and license state remain on your device until you clear them, uninstall, or deactivate your license. Purchase and support records are retained only as long as needed to provide the products and to meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the limited personal data we hold about you (such as support correspondence and order references), and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email us and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Because payments are handled by Dodo Payments as Merchant of Record, requests relating to your payment data may need to be directed to Dodo Payments. We will help you route any such request. Contact us at hello@tsacademy.tech.

Troubleshooting Academy does not knowingly collect data from or market to children (as defined by the law that applies to you). If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Our website and products may link to third-party websites, stores, or services that have their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those third parties.

If this policy changes materially, we will update the effective date above and describe the change on tsacademy.tech.
